· In a second file: Describe in 300 words or less why this building deserves to be considered for this award. Do not put the name of the design or building team anywhere in the project narrative as this will disqualify the project.

· Selection criteria: The jury will select the winning project based on a balance of the following criteria:
o Architectural quality & design excellence
o Appropriateness of the solution to the client’s program/needs.
o Appropriateness of the solution’s response to the site, climate & environment.
o Demonstration of mastery in green building and sustainable design.
o Innovation of green building.

o General note: social justice, public/community benefit (including probono work by the team), and incorporation of sustainability in small or low-budget projects, will all be taken into account. The jury recognizes that larger and more expensive projects have an inherent advantage in such competitions, and the jury wants to create a level playing field in order to encourage and recognize sustainability for all project types..
