Given to celebrate the best student work in Colorado that champions green building practices.

project eligibility

  • Created by Colorado student(s) enrolled in a related field during 2023

    • If the project was created by more than one person, the entire team must submit as a group

  • Must have a green building component

  • Have been created any time in the last 3 years

    • any size, location or type

    • theoretical or built

award criteria

  • Project should demonstrate an extraordinary commitment or approach to the principles and practice of sustainable design

  • Project clearly describes the sustainable elements

  • Overall quality of the design and presentation

  • Innovation, complexity/difficulty of the challenge, and has an ability to serve as a model for others

submittal format

  • Maximum file size 10MB

  • Entries must be in PDF format; horizontal (landscape) 11x17 orientation

  • No more than 15 pages total

  • First page must include the award title, project name, student’s name, email and phone number, and college affiliation (eg, sophomore at CU Boulder ENV)

  • Second page must include a narrative (or bullet points) describing the project (minimum font size 16). Description should highlight sustainable design elements.

  • All remaining pages are at the entrant’s choice. There are no specific requirements for images, but it is recommended to include site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations, diagrams and 3D images.
